The loan from the public promotional bank allows the laser technology company to open its first industrial plant outside German borders in the Bages region and create 15 new direct jobs

The Institut Català de Finances (ICF) has financed with 528,000 euros the laser technology company Lang Laser to adapt and open an industrial plant in Sant Salvador de Guardiola (Bages), where it will transfer 50% of its production process from Germany. The company's new plant, its first outside Germany, will create 15 direct jobs by 2026 and will enable Lang Laser to offer its customers in Spain and South America better production and delivery times.
With the new plant, which started operations this September, the company expects to double its sales and manufacturing capacity in approximately three years. Lang Laser's decision to move its production to the Bages region is due to the need as a manufacturer to have more sustainable materials, which require other production processes
“It is a source of pride that our funding will serve to promote the reindustrialization of Catalonia and consolidate the establishment of a new company in our country, which will also generate new jobs. Reactivating industry is one of our strategic lines,” said ICF CEO Vanessa Servera.
Specifically, the loan from the public bank of the Generalitat de Catalunya is intended to finance Lang Laser Iberia, a subsidiary of the German company Lang Laser Systems, a company with a history of more than 30 years dedicated to the design, manufacture and marketing of laser systems for the packaging industry.
Lang Laser Iberia was established in 2021 in Catalonia with the aim of providing commercial and technical service to customers that the group has in the Iberian Peninsula and South America. Now, with the financing received from the ICF, it will be able to offer a comprehensive service by also incorporating part of its production process.
“The new plant in Bages will be equipped with the most advanced technology and will allow the design and manufacture of products adapted to the specific needs of each customer, which until now were only produced by the parent company,” says Enric Sucarrats, manager of Lang Laser Iberia.
The head of the Catalan subsidiary also details that the project for the adaptation of the plant includes the installation of photovoltaic panels and that “the use of laser systems in the packaging industry is revolutionizing the production of more sustainable packaging and the use of new materials aimed at improving the circular economy of packaging”.
