Submit a request for access to public information about the ICF
Access to public information is a right recognised and regulated by Act 19/2014 and Decree 8/2021, which promotes transparency, good governance, accountability and citizen participation in public management. To exercise this right, you need to submit a request.
- Who can exercise it? Anyone over the age of sixteen, either on their own behalf or on behalf of an organisation.
- What information can I ask for? All information produced by the Administration and all information held by the Administration as a result of its operations or the performance of its duties.
- What are the limits? The request may be turned down or restricted if it concerns issues such as public safety or the rights of minors or ruled inadmissible if it comes under any of the cases specified by law.
Specifically, the ICF is also bound by bank secrecy which precludes the disclosure of information on companies that have applied for or obtained financing from the entity in accordance with the Regulation, Supervision and Solvency of Credit Institutions Act. This means the ICF has to keep information on balances, positions, transactions and other operations of its customers confidential.
- Do I have to give reasons for my request? No. You will not need to state your reasons or cite any regulation to access this information.
If you do not receive a reply or if your request has been denied in whole or in part, you can refer your case to the Commission for the Guarantee of the Right of Access to Public Information (GAIP).
