The financing, of 140,000 euros, is one of the first of the ICF Social Economy line that was recently launched and has a guarantee from the EIF through InvestEU to facilitate access to credit for social entities. The housing will be part of the program Suport a l'Autonomia a la Pròpia Llar of the entity and will facilitate the right to housing for 6 people with intellectual disabilities.
The Sique Foundation will buy and rehabilitate two houses in Badalona to be used for social rent, where six people with intellectual disabilities will live. Thanks to an ICF loan of 140,000 euros, which covers part of the purchase and remodelling, the foundation will have two new flats in the Salut neighbourhood of Badalona. In this way, it expands its Suport a l'Autonomia a la Pròpia Llar program, which currently serves 45 people, by six places.
The Sique Foundation offers help, support and training to people with different intellectual abilities and their families so that they can develop their skills, express their feelings and achieve maximum autonomy and quality of life within a natural process of family, social and occupational development. The entity, with more than 25 years of experience in the city, assisted in 2023 more than 250 people, with its services: Housing, Leisure, Sports, Guardianship, Psychology and adapted Travel.
This financing by the ICF is part of the ICF Social Economy program that was launched last February and is aimed at social enterprises and entities that sometimes have difficulties in obtaining financing for their investments. Through a limited guarantee from the EIF to the ICF and with the support framework of the European program InvestEU, the public financial institution of the Generalitat has financing available for social enterprises.
